Taking a break from my usual complainy-pants ways to post about things that are going on in the world that I actually like. Here goes:

Patton Oswalt is engaged. This makes me very happy.

HBO leads the Emmy nominations, and Netflix is next.
This bodes well for people who enjoy quality television, if any.

Free drones. H and I (well, they're mine, but H is better at flying them) have gotten a total of four free drones for review. The most recent one is hella tiny. Like, hilariously so.

Jim Jeffries show is pretty good. He looks good in a suit too. If I was merely moderately good looking and had a TV show, I'm not sure I'd bring in Brad Pitt. Or are they having an affair now too?

Still looking at dogs. Want to find a low-energy guard dog that isn't drooly and won't have a bunch of expensive health problems. Sorry, Bull Mastiff.

I think my sister-in-law might be my favorite person in the world. I totally hope she comes to live with us.

Still writing over to the Radish. This serial story seems to be going well, though this is not at all what I'm used to. Few things make me feel more like a horror writer than actually writing horror. I guess that's how it's supposed to be, right?

TV I'm going to try to get caught up on soon:
Fear the Walking Dead

Meow meow meow meow meow! Cats: still great. Sammy is a giant ham and also very frisky. He is just a year old and still full of ZOOOOOM. It's been super hot and he pants like a dog and it looks ridiculous. (I've been giving them ice cubes to help, but he just RUNS AT FULL SPEED so much that he has to pant.) Ladybug is more genteel and mostly just steps out of the way of the Sammy-train, but she'll dive in to a spinning circle of cat politics if provoked. There's no hissing or claws, it's more like acrobats practicing. Ladybug does this thing where if I walk close enough she will stand on her hind legs to cadge a pat from my hand. This melts my brain/heart every time and also is super strange to me after living with Suzie-cat all those years - Suzie loved feet and was terrified of hands. Having my little soot sprites look so different from Toby & Suzie helps with the adjustment. We have a VERY, VERY STURDY cat tree now (thanks for lugging it home for me, dad!) like, sturdier than the rest of my furniture combined (to be fair, most of my furniture is Ikea) and Greg has been decorating it like a christmas tree with toys and tidbits he thinks will attract the cats. The cats don't actually need any attracting, they love the cat tree, they are cats, but mastermind Greg is sure it's because of his lego offerings. It's been VERY DIFFICULT to get him to bed this week because CATS EXIST. Last night I caved and let him just sleep on the couch next to the cat tree. Honestly I don't care where he sleeps as long as he actually does, but I've been having to shovel him back in to bed 2 or 3 times a night before he actually clonks for real because he is trying to sneak out to play with the cats. I am pretty oblivious but even I notice this not very subtle activity, which is adorable but OY BACK TO BED BYE. Anyway, he's asleep now so if you'll excuse me I'm off to hypocritically pat the cats way past my bedtime. XD (Someone asked "So do his cats go with him when his dad has custody?" HA HA HA HA NO THEY ARE MINE. Greg is totally a cat lady, but he larned it from me.)
