Well, since Terese asked...
May. 1st, 2006 12:09 pmAnd so where did we leave off? Ah yes, the night's sleep. Or lack. Even when I did sleep I dreamed I was sleeping in the airport. Note to self: make sure we don't get street facing room next time.
Friday we got up early enough to have breakfast and then headed off into the neighborhood. We browsed and bought fancy coffee and picked up and put down cards everywhere. First destination was the library where we found the musical selection was french horn. After discreetly sneaking off while his head was down (and NOT taking the row of chairs we almost tripped over) we spent a bunch of time and very little money in the library book store. Used books make me happy! Used books without entertaining the children long enough to enjoy them, priceless.
We had a lovely lunch of bento boxes and got to chitchatting with a very pregnant hostess. Someone came in and asked her if she'd had her shower yet. We couldn't contain ourselves as they sorted out that she had indeed showered. Then spent the afternoon at the pool and hot tub watching wedding preparations for a couple getting hitched at the B&B. The kids in attendance were so jealous that we got to be in the pool while they had to wear fancy clothes.
After dinner by the pool (no, no one offered us wedding buffet dang it) we went to the DMAC for the animated shorts that had been nominated for Oscars. In the gallery was a show put on by a "spiritual community" who were frighteningly cult like in their monochrome dress. Everyone was wearing black and white. We were wearing gray.
Afterward we had a cycle cab back to the hotel where the wedding had ended, but left us with a program and wedding CD. An EXCELLENT mix it turns out. Many happy years to Sharini and Anthony!
Since getting home we've relaxed, had a picnic, took the girls to a movie and stained the kitchen cabinets. A full and yet completely relaxing weekend all round. Super super! Coming soon, kitchen transformation pictures!
