No, not herpEs, herps, like reptiles? We went to Repticon (reptile fair) yesterday to acquire Ruby's birthday present. And oh, acquire we did.
It's not so much the Red Eyed Tree frog at $25 that blew my wallet's mind, but the 4 companion toads (fire bellies,) the tank, the gravel, the non-soil, a new fish tank for Tonya Harding, oh yeah and the crickets we also get to have as "pets" given that they must be fed and watered everyday to feed the frog and toads. But! we have a wonderful environment now on our dining room table with frogs and toads and fish and plants, right, and crickets.
The girls had a BLAST at the show though, looking at all snakes and yeezhards and such. There was even a puppet show! Ruby named her frog Sir Robin. You know, Sir Robin the Brave. History one day will rave! He's valliant and daring, noble of bearing, courageous and gallant, a mountain of talent! No wonder folks curtsey and wave, he's Robin, Sir Robin the braaaave. Great, I'll have that stuck in my head all day.
The 4 toads have yet to be officially named though I'm leaning toward calling mine Cheney. In any case, welcome to the farm you amphibians!
