Ah well! Tuesday was QN's movie night and we totally took over by coming with leftovers from soup night and Palindromes from Pete's List (now gaining fame as such!) Aside from some brief but annoying technical difficulties we were all pretty wowed by it. A good dose of confusion, the kind of humor you're a little appalled at yourself for laughing at, and just plain good old fashioned story telling made it a real treat. Well, a treat considering it was extremely uncomfortable and created a pretty steady stream of "what the fuck?"

Did I mention this is only our 2nd time hanging out with QN and Bee and we'd never met her friends?

I never know how much of the movie to give away in these psuedo reviews, not being an actual reviewer or even very insightful when it comes to these things. But I liked how smoothly the movie played upon my assumptions about liberals, conservatives and fantatics. The irony was painful and beautiful. One thing about Pete's List... these movies do not let you off the hook with a nice tidy, have a nice day. They live on in your psyche, tempting you to think and rethink them.

Like, I didn't realize until a few days after watching Lone Star that the binding theme among all the characters and stories was the ability to overcome one's history, one's past. Duh. Hey! Well I said I wasn't a reviewer! Next up: Happiness

P.S. If you end up watching one of these movies because you saw it here, let me know!
